Kent State University Incident
April 23rd in 1960 marked the day that American students would remember forever; when the war was pushed into Cambodia. One day in May, a group of students rallied against the Vietnam War which now took Cambodia under it's wings. The war extended into Cambodia and this caused an outcry from students at Kent State University. The protesters began throwing bottles and rocks at the National Guardsmen. One of the guards broke out into fire and this caused others to shoot. One guardsmen shot sixty three bullets into the crowd, this killed four students and wounded eight.

The loud cracks erupted through the crowd. To my right I saw 4 students dead on the cold paved ground, and 8 others wounded. Their hard glazed eyes stared towards the peaceful protesters. Guns ready, all they had to do was aim was pull the trigger. I grabbed my bag and rushed out of the crowd back to my dorm room.
